The Octonauts
The Octonauts is a British kids' TV show made by Silvergate Media for the BBC's Cbeebies channel. The animation for the show is done in Ireland by Brown Bag Films, but the voice actors are from Britain. The TV show is based on books for kids written by Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy of Meomi Design Inc., who are American and Canadian. The Octonauts is a show about an underwater exploring crew made up of stylized animals that look like people. The crew is made up of eight adventurers who live in an underwater base called the Octopod and go on adventures using a fleet of water vehicles. The subject reminds me of Star Trek, Thunderbirds, and Jacques Cousteau all at the same time. Even though the technology is science fiction, the strange animals and places the crew sees are real marine animals in their natural habitats.
