The Originals

The Originals, a New Orleans-based spinoff of The Vampire Diaries, focuses on the Mikaelson siblings, Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah, also known as the world's original vampires. Klaus must now eliminate his protégé Marcel, who is currently in command of New Orleans, in order to reclaim his city, as he was the one who constructed New Orleans in the first place. Klaus left the city after being pursued by his father Mikael, as it was being built and Marcel assumed command. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has prompted him to ascend to the throne of the city. Klaus accepts the unborn child, stating, "Every king needs an heir." It is unprecedented for a hybrid and a werewolf to produce a child.
