The Outsider

An independent private investigator known as "The Outsider" was the subject of the film. As Ross, Darren McGavin's character lived in a strange and perilous world. It aired on NBC for one season and portrayed a lonely private detective who had previously served time in jail for a crime he didn't commit and who never quite fit into a fast changing world, much like The Rockford Files would later do.
