The Philanthropist

The first episode of the American action-drama show The Philanthropist aired on NBC on June 24, 2009. The show only ran for a few weeks in the summer, and most of it was shot in South Africa. It started off with a lot of viewers, but that changed over time. The Philanthropist is made by Carnival Films, The Levinson/Fontana Company, and Original Media. Executive producers were Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, Peter Horton, Charlie Corwin, Gareth Neame, and Teri Weinberg. NBC stopped airing the show on October 21, 2009. Fans tried to keep the show on the air using Facebook and a charitable cause called "Save The Philanthropist through Charity," but they were not successful.
