The Rookie, which was called The Rookie: CTU for its first two seasons, is a series of webisodes made in 2007 and 2008 and only available on the internet. They tell the story of a new CTU agent named Jason Blaine. The show is a continuation of the TV show 24. The style of the show is similar to that of 24, and it uses many of the same tools. For example, Jason Blaine says in a voiceover at the beginning of each "Day" episode what time the show takes place between. Also, each episode starts with a "Previously on The Rookie" segment, which is again narrated by Jason Blaine. The splitscreen is often used to show phone conversations and to end each episode. But it's not happening in real time.
