The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a popular television show that originated in the United States and was broadcast on ABC from March4,1992, all the way through July24, 1993. The shooting took occurred on the campus of UNCW as well as in a number of other locations surrounding Wilmington, North Carolina. This television series was a production of Amblin Entertainment and Lucasfilm in conjunction with Paramount Network Television. The series focuses on Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier as the title character, with George Hall playing an older version of Jones for the bookends of most episodes (although Harrison Ford bookended one episode). The series examines the childhood and youth of the fictional character Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford also bookended one episode. George Lucas, who also developed, co-wrote, and executive produced the Indiana Jones film franchise, was the brains behind the show's concept and serves as the show's executive producer. The series was canceled in 1993 because of its prohibitively high production costs. Despite this, in an attempt to prolong the series after it was canceled, four movies made specifically for television were produced between the years 1994 and 1996. The original series was recut into 22 television movies and re-released under the title The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones in the year 1999.
