Those Who Kill

Those Who Kill is a Danish crime TV series that debuted in 2011 and follows a fictitious squad inside the Copenhagen Police Department that is dedicated to investigating cases of serial murder. In Denmark, each episode of the series was split into two parts, but in most other countries, each episode was longer than a feature film. Denmark was the only country to screen the series in its original format. The standalone feature film Fortiden's skygge, which runs for a total of 92 minutes and serves as both a continuation and conclusion to the series, had its world premiere in Danish theaters on March 15, 2012. The film is currently being broadcast as the series' sixth and final episode in many other countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany. Elsbeth Egholm and Stefan Jaworski are responsible for the creation of the series as well as its writing. A number of other screenwriters, including Siv Rajendram, Rikke De Fine Licht, and Morten Dragsted, contributed to the series by writing individual episodes. Directors have been Birger Larsen, Niels Nørløv and Kasper Barfoed. Co-production companies from Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and Norway worked together to create this series. As a result of declining viewer shares after the first few episodes, Danish TV2 declared in October 2011 that there will be no further seasons made of the show, despite the fact that it had been planned to continue for multiple seasons in the beginning. According to Keld Reinicke, who is in charge of programming for TV2, "We have no plans to continue the series as it never delivered us the audience share we expected in Denmark."
