Keiichi Satou directed Sunrise's 2011 Japanese anime television series Tiger & Bunny. Screenwriter Masafumi Nishida created the story, while artist Masakazu Katsura created the characters. The series premiered on Tokyo MX on April3,2011, and was rerun on BS11 and MBS until concluding on September17, 2011. The series will also be available on Hulu and Anime News Network as a simulcast from Viz Media. Superheroes battle crime while advertising real-world sponsors in this futuristic city, where they are obliged to work together by their employers, including an old-school "Wild Tiger" and an up-and-coming rookie hero named Barnaby Brooks Jr. On August4,2011, Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine released a one-shot manga created by Masakazu Katsura, and in November2011, two films based on the series were revealed at a special event. On September22,2012, the film Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning debuted in Japan. February 2014 is the releasing date for the second film, Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Rising-.
