Since 1994, Time Team has been broadcast on British Channel 4 as a British television series. Each episode, which was produced by television producer Tim Taylor and hosted by actor Tony Robinson, featured a team of specialists conducting an archaeological excavation over the course of three days, with Robinson explaining the procedure in layman's terms. Throughout the series' run, this team of specialists has fluctuated, but has always included professional archaeologists such as Mick Aston, Carenza Lewis, Francis Pryor, and Phil Harding. From the Paleolithic through the Second World War, archaeological sites have been uncovered during the length of the show. In October of 2012, Channel 4 stated that the last season would air in 2013. From January to March2013, Series 20 was broadcast, and a number of specials are scheduled to air throughout 2014.
