War of the Worlds
Canadian/American science fiction television series "WAR OF THE WORLDS," which aired for two seasons from October 10, 1988, to May 14, 1990 Based on a 1953 film, it uses the War Machine and incorporates elements from it, as well as the film's radio version and original novel into its story. A television series based on the original film was first proposed in the 1970s by film director George Pal, but it wasn't realized until the late 1980s by television producer Greg Strangis. At the time, it was part of an explosion in the number of first-run syndicated television shows. The Sci Fi Channel later aired replays of it. Both Los Angeles and Toronto were used for filming the series.
