Millions of European Jews are taken to German detention camps and slaughtered during World War II. Norwegian Jews feel safe and protected as German troops invade Norway. As Europe's war escalates, anti-Semitism grows. Their radios are taken away, their passports are stamped with a huge J, and all men over 15 are detained and brought to prison camps. Many of the ladies left behind are too terrified to escape and are desperately waiting for their husbands and sons to return. On November26,1942, police bring hundreds of Jews to Oslo's dock. Men, women, infants, ill, and old are pushed onto the German cargo ship "SS DONAU." The ship departs with 532 Norwegian Jews: 302 men, 188 women, and 42 children. Auschwitz is the last stop.
