Ninth Happiness
The naïve residents of Choi Hung village sing and work. Chi Wan, the town's leading lady, falls in love with a man she encounters in the woods and thinks he is a fairy. He follows her while hiding his identity and consults her sister, Heung, who advises him to get Chi Wan a fan. Misplaced jealousies arise because Chi Wan and Heung's lover, Dup, believe the stranger and Heung are romantically linked. Two brothers, the new town official and his rough enforcer, are also newcomers; they try to open a whorehouse since they can't believe there isn't any graft or corruption to profit from. Also being pursued is Chi Wan. Can it all be resolved? Will truth win out? What about this stranger?
