Normal people demonstrate tremendous fortitude in the face of lunacy.... On the 13th and 14th of November, 1990, a lone shooter wielding a high-powered semi-automatic rifle entered Aramoana, a small New Zealand beach hamlet, bringing with him a wave of madness. A handful of under-resourced and under-armed local police officers risked their lives trying to locate and rescue the terrified and befuddled residents while he pursued his prey for nearly 24 hours. The story is based on genuine occurrences.
