Toxic Avenger (1984) by Lloyd Kaufman is the inspiration for this cult classic comedy. Tromaville's residents are desperate for a hero, and the musical portrays their narrative. An earth scientist with a deep desire to clear up the state's big toxic waste problem is a nerdy Melvin Ferd III. To foil this heroic effort, a corrupt Mayor and her government minions pledge to do all in their power.
