Tokyo is experiencing rain showers that appear to slow everyone down. In the middle of this apparently endless rain, runaway high school student Hodaka Morishima finds work at a small publisher. Hina Amano is orphaned and must support herself and her brother. Both fates intertwine when Hodaka rescues Hina from shady men and they run away.
