In 1839, several months after the Patriots' uprising was put down by the British troops, hundreds of rebels are still languishing in jail. Marie-Thomas Chevalier De Lorimier and Charles Hindelang are informed that they, along with three other comrades, would be executed by hanging the next morning, February 14. The condemned pass the time by spending it with their loved ones and friends, consulting with them about their final wishes, and giving them their wills to look after in their absence. At first light, the five Patriots muster the will to make their way with honor towards the scaffold, fully aware that they are going to die for a cause that is righteous. www.tribute.ca
