Godzilla 1985
This is the extensively re-edited and re-titled "Godzilla 1985," which was originally released in Japan in 1984 under the title "The Return of Godzilla." This 16th Godzilla film, which includes new footage of Raymond Burr, skips all prior sequels and acts as a straight sequel to the 1956 "Godzilla King of the Monsters," which included scenes with Burr that were previously spliced into 1954's "Godzilla." As we watch the nuclear death of a monstrous lizard that has been terrorizing Japan, this film returns the film to its darker tone from the original.
