Jodorowsky's Dune
This documentary examines director Alejandro Jodorowsky's (El Topo, Holy Mountain, Santa Sangre) 1974 Quixotic attempt to adapt the iconic science fiction novel Dune into a feature film. Filmed in France, England, Switzerland, and the United States. After two years and millions of dollars, the gigantic initiative ultimately failed, but the artists Jodorowsky assembled for the famous undertaking continued to collaborate. This collection of artists, or Jodorowsky's "warriors," went on to define modern science fiction cinema with films such as Alien, Blade Runner, Star Wars, and Total Recall.
