Raining Stones
This Ken Loach film is about a man who is devoted to his family and his religion. Bob, a proud but poor man, wants his little girl to have a beautiful (and expensive) brand-new dress for her First Communion. His tenacity and determination get him into trouble as he resorts to increasingly dubious methods in his desperation to raise the necessary funds. This tragic flaw drives him to jeopardize everything he loves and values, including his beloved family and even his immortal soul and salvation, in the pursuit of that goal.
