Toba Tek Singh
It is set soon before the partition of India and Pakistan in one of the oldest asylums for mentally ill patients in pre-divided India. It was located in Lahore, Pakistan, and served as a shelter for Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh patients who were abandoned by their family. Patients who had no one else to talk to formed strong bonds of friendship. They all had a fascinating tale to tell, but none were exactly like Bishan Singh.
