20/20
Since June 6, 1978, ABC has aired 20/20, an American television newsmagazine. The show, created by ABC News executive Roone Arledge, is similar to CBS's 60 Minutes in format but concentrates on human interest stories rather than foreign and political issues. The program's name is derived from the "20/20" visual acuity assessment. The hour-long program has been a Friday evening mainstay since it switched from Thursdays to Fridays in September 1987, while special editions of the program occasionally air on other nights.
