Alcatraz
The American television series Alcatraz was created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien, and Bryan Wynbrandt, and produced by J. J. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions. The series debuted on Fox as a midseason replacement on January 16, 2012. The series centers on the Alcatraz prison, which reportedly closed in 1963 owing to unsafe conditions for both inmates and personnel. The concept of the show is that the prisoners and guards vanished in 1963 and have suddenly reappeared in present-day San Francisco, where they are being pursued by a federal agency. The cast of the show included Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill, and Parminder Nagra. On May 9, 2012, the show was canceled.
