The Danish army receives word of an impending attack early on the morning of April 9, 1940. The Germans have successfully breached the border, and Denmark is now at war with the most powerful army in Europe. In Southern Jutland, Danish bicycle and motorcycle units have been given the order to deploy with the mission of restraining the enemy forces until the reinforcements from Denmark can be brought into position. During the decisive hours, we accompany second lieutenant Sand and his bicycle company. On April 9, 1940, they would be the first Danish soldiers to engage the enemy in action.
